We The People Decide

Which state to live in?
What is the state of the state?
We the people decide.

The peace that prevails,
or the one that doesn't.
We the people decide.

The heat of the sun,
the sea level.
We the people decide.

The number of females,
the safety of theirs.
We the people decide.

The DJ parties, the rave parties,
the rallies, the festivals.
We the people decide.

The critisicm, the racism,
the statism, the nazism.
We the people decide.

The earth lives.
The sun dies.
The truth prevails.
We the people decide.

To just read this,
or to understand this
and try to do something.
We the people decide.

TOR-Men-TORS: Why are Indian men disgusting?

The male-chauvinist pigs, that Indian men are, time and again prove that they are an embarrassment to the human race. They pick their nose in public, they eat disgusting things like gutkha, tobacco and pan and paint any and every area with it and they urinate just about anywhere. They are untidy and filthy. Now many would disagree, try to argue that they are not untidy and filthy, that they are rather very well-mannered and very presentable. May be... But inside every Indian man's mind there is filth, dirt, grime and grunge. Not only are they disgusting, they all are rapists!

As offending as it may seem, its the truth. They are all rapists. We know enough cases through the media to know that rapes and molestation cases are alarmingly high in India, with its capital, Delhi, also being termed as the Rape Capital. In India, every 26 minutes, a woman is molested; every 34 minutes, a woman is raped; every 42 minutes, an incident of sexual harassment takes place. Let us do the math... in a year, 20215 women are molested, 15459 women are raped and 12514 women are sexually harassed. Thats one shameful stat!

Now, you would say that you never raped, molested or sexually harassed any one. And I would ask you to reconsider. Every minute, some girl is groped in a crowded bus, inappropriately touched by a friend or relative, eve-teased and demeaned by shameless pricks. These acts of sexual harassment are done by otherwise decent men.

Now, a few of you would still say that you never sexually harassed or violated a woman. And I would ask you again to reconsider. By my guess, 98 percent of Indians, men and women alike, feel that women are raped, molested or sexually harassed because of the way they dress, they talk or the way they behave. And those who feel so, are the rapists to be. Because, one fine day, their judgmental small minds would conclude that a skimpy dress, a sweet talk or a friendly hug is an 'invitation' and they would do everything possible to honour the 'invite'.

And so I say all Indian men are rapists, with, of course, a few honourable exceptions. But are they really honourable. This small minority of Indian men, who actually are well-mannered, presentable, nonjudgmental and open-minded individuals, are passive and silent to all the ill-doing and garbage-thinking around them. Even I'm clueless as to what can this minority do to bring about a change in the mindset and thinking of the rapist-majority.

So all my rapist friends out there, I'm sure you would like to get rid of the rapist tag. But in order to do that you need to show some maturity in the way you think. These are some guidelines in order to not be a rapist:

Firstly, with regards to not being an actual rapist or molester:
  1. Its okay if you die a virgin.
  2. You can buy a book on self-help.
  3. Rape and molestation are crimes. You would be jailed, if not killed by the victim or an angry mob.
  4. A sexually-transmitted disease might easily get transmitted in the act, as obviously, you won't have the time or sense to use a condom then.
  5. Molestation and rape dont prove your masculinity. They just reiterate the fact that you are a wuss.

Secondly, with regards to not being a sexual harasser:
  1. Acts like blind-groping, eve-teasing, indecent-touching are disgusting acts of the weak.
  2. The pleasure therein is minuscule, but makes you an ugly person, and demeans a human being. Thus, its not worth it.
  3. There's a fine line between appreciating someone and demeaning someone. The next time, you like a girl, don't whistle. May be, if you have the balls for it, then approach the girl and tell her with utmost respect and without any expectations that you like her and get the hell out of there. If she feels the same about you she would do something about it, if not, don't bother her again.

Finally, with regards to not being a potential rapist:
  1. If you roam around without a shirt, and even if you have great muscles, no girl would try to molest you. Same is expected from you. A girl wears certain clothes in certain way because thats her fashion sense, thats the way she likes to see herself. It in no way signifies that she wants you to do her. Even if you find a girl without any clothes (hypothetically), it must mean that either she's too poor to have clothes or she's a nudist. And if she actually wants you to do her, she will just tell you. Don't worry, she has that much guts.
  2. Just because a girl drinks and/or smokes, it does not mean that she sleeps around. That's just your wishful thinking. Same is the case with a girl going to a disco or such other place.
  3. Just because a girl is in multiple relationships, allegedly or otherwise, it does not mean that she can't say no to you. Even a prostitute has every right to deny. So don't feed yourself the moral crap of she deserves it and shit!
  4. Don't be judgmental of peoples characters. You dont know shit about what goes on in their minds and in their lives.

I hope, we Indian men, pick ourselves up, and treat women with respect and dignity. Lets re-inspire the genesis of chivalry.

I NEVER EVEN THOUGHT THAT

I never even thought that we could be friends.
I never even thought that we would meet again.
I never even thought that you would be here.
I never even thought that you would be so dear.

I never even thought that i will be holding your hand.
I never even thought that i will be having that chance.
I never even thought that i would be staring at you.
I never even thought that you too wont mind it to do.

I never even thought that we will have a walk together.
I never even thought that we will know each other.
I never even thought that we would be so much alike.
I never even thought that you would be the person i like.

I never even thought that you would be in my arms.
I never even thought that i would be bowled over by your charms.
I never even thought that i would be kissing you.
I never even thought that i would be missing you.

I never even thought that we would get up together in one bed.
I never even thought that we will be together in our life ahead.
I never even thought that you would be my destiny.
I never even thought that you would mean my life to me.

THE DEFENSELESS DEFENSE

The terror mail has said a matter of fact – ‘Hindus should not think that the Indian ATS, Army are well endowed with high-tech weapons and are brave too.’ Though they are brave, no doubt about that, they surely are quiet backward in weaponary, infrastructure, or even professional planning and management. Lets assess why:

The terrorists came in, fired indiscriminately, held hostages and caused terror for nearly two days. These two days of terror was a result of at least 6 months of planning, organizing and training. Still our intelligence had no clue ofThe terrorists came in, fired indiscriminately, held hostages and caused terror for nearly two anything about it is alarming, shameful and sorrowful. The navy or the coastal defense has been poor. After the Kargil war a committee had been set up. Which said that in order to improve coastal security and to prevent small ships from infiltrating more than 30 radars would be installed in the Indian seas. But this surely seems to have been remained only in the papers of the committee report. Due to absence of patrol mechanism in the waters as well as on the Indian lands these terrorists were able to move from their drop spots to their terror spots alongwith AK 47 rifles and a bag full of hand-grenades.

Later at the CST station the metal/ weapon detectors which have been installed seem to be mere showpieces as they were unable to detect any weapons or explosives. Also the security at the CST was pathetic. The small amount of security that was there was left with lathis to face AK 47s and hand grenades. Also there was no quick back-up or quick help sent to the CST.

Later the terrorist fled in police/ Govt. vehicles. These were not having any GPS installed on them. The pursuit was not a highly co-ordinated pursuit as the ones we see on the AXN show on real police videos. The delay in catching these terrorists caused even more casualties and deaths. The local police machinery was no way capable or prepared to face the attacks of AK 47 rifles and showering grenades. The guns most of the local police had were like 9mm and such other low power weapons. Also their armor vests were not of high quality.

Then moving on to the hostage situation at Taj, the Oberoi and the Nariman Point. Firstly there was local police. Then came the rapid action force. Then the military commandos. And then quite behind time by at least ten hours came the National Security Force commandos who are actually the right people which needed to be present there. So they all came together and joined the chaos and the confusion. Initially the lack of planning was evident among the different forces which saw the death of 3 of the most finest officers of India, who were very brave but unfortunately also a bit complacent and a bit ill-prepared as well. Though we cannot blame them. It is the training that they get which leads them to such ill-preparedness. The commandos weren’t having night vision goggles or thermal vision goggles. The US had it decades back. The commandos used the walkie-talkies or they were shouting in order to communicate with each other. I don’t think ear-phones based parallel communication is a very high-end technology that we cannot have. It would have been useful if choppers had been used right from the initial stages of the operation. Simple technological wonders such as our very own remote controlled ‘Daksh’ or such other remote-controlled vehicles could have been used to get the inside pictures of the activities going on. A very alarming fact was that the fire brigade didn’t know if there was a basement to the building in Nariman point when asked by a reporter. This shows the lack of intelligent planning and effective information sharing by the officers in the operation. The whole operation was rather snail-paced. Though it was justified by the fact that the commanders were concerned of the hostages and also of the presence of booby-traps. But this slow pace might have been responsible for some of the injured being transferred to the list of the dead. Also till the very end, if it is the end, the commanders were not having any specific information of the number of terrorists that came to India and if the hostage areas were completely secured. On and on it was a complete security failure which all through showed the lack of experience in crisis management.

All through the news channels the politicians, the reporters, the news anchors were just saying that the people of Mumbai will fight back by getting back to normalcy, by going back to their jobs without caring that whether there has been anything done about the whole thing. And the same thing happened. The people came out of their houses, some with a sad face some with a smile, and they used the trains, they went to work, they used taxis and some might have even went to some park because the malls and multiplexes are closed. The sensex was on a high. Stocks were in green. Here the share prices were important than the death toll. Wow! What a sick way to fight back by being indifferent as if nothing has happened. I would have thought that a better way to fight back would have been if the people would have been not going to their offices today but coming on the streets doing silent protests. Or at least planning some for later to raise the issues of national security, peace, protection, justice! I think unlike America we people rather prefer pursuit of local trains instead of pursuit of happiness.
